Our Mission

Our mission is to glorify God by developing fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ in our families, in our communities, and around the world.

Our Core Beliefs

  • The Bible

We believe in the power and authority of God's Word.

We believe the sixty-six books of the Holy Bible are the only inspired Word of God. It is infallible and absolutely free from error in the original documents. We believe that the Scriptures are authoritative and transformational in all matters of life.

    (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

  • God

We believe in the existence of a Holy God.

We believe God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He eternally exists in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

    (Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

  • Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity, person, and work of the Son of God.

We believe Jesus Christ is God.  He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and is both fully God and fully human. We also believe that he died as a substitutionary sacrifice to pay the penalty for our sins and that he physically rose from the dead, ascended into heaven and will one day physically return to establish his eternal Kingdom on earth.

    (John 1:1; Matthew 1:18, 25; Hebrews 4:15; Hebrews 9:15-22; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 9:27-28)

  • The Spirit

We believe in the deity, person, and work of the Holy Spirit.

We believe the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present and active in the world today. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He guides them in spiritual truth and enables them to live obedient lives.

    (John 14:15-26; John 16:5-16; Ephesians 1:13-14)

  • Salvation

We believe in the Power of the Gospel.

We believe salvation is a free gift from God to lost sinners. Human beings can never make up for their sin by self-improvement or good works – only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can we be saved from sin’s penalty.

    (John 1:12; John 3:13-19; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8, 9; 1 John 5:11-13)

  • Eternal Life

We believe in the reality of Life after Death.

We believe in eternal life, and that through repentance and belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, we will spend eternity with God in Heaven. We believe that by rejecting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we will receive eternal suffering in hell.

    (Matthew 25:31-46; John 3:16-18, 36; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

  • Sanctification

We believe growing stronger in our faith means becoming more like Christ.

God calls His followers to actively strive towards spiritual maturity through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Sanctification is a continual work of God and the believer that makes us more and more free from sin and like Christ in our lives.

    (1 Thessalonians 4:3-8; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Romans 12:1, 2; Ephesians 2:22-24)

  • Prayer

We believe in the transformative power of prayer.

God hears and answers our prayers, it is one of the primary means to have a relationship with him. Prayer is an important part of all ministries and activities of Lake Hills Baptist Church.

    (Matthew 6:6-15; Romans 10:1; Hebrews 4:14-16; James 1:5-8)

  • Worship

We believe in the importance of corporate worship.

God has promised to uniquely manifest Himself when we gather as a church for Worship. Faithful, regular attendance is an important part of Lake Hills Baptist Church.

    (John 4:22-24; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 17; Ephesians 2:21, 22; Colossians 3:16, 17)

  • Community

We believe we were created for community.

As a church family we are learning to live in meaningful intergenerational relationships with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

    (Romans 12:3-16; Ephesians 2:18-22; 1 Peter 4:8-11;)

  • Missions

We believe in local and global missions.

The church has been charged with sharing the Gospel with all people. Both in our community and around the world, outreach and missions are an important part of life at Lake Hills Baptist Church.

    (Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 24:47, 48; Acts 13:46, 47)
